We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our executive team at VP Capital with the appointment of Marije Rhebergen as Director of Impact & Communications, a decision that, just like our investments, is driven by impact.

An important milestone for our family office, welcoming Marije to our executive team as our first Director of Impact & Communications strengthens our commitment to accelerate positive impact. “The appointment of an Impact & Communication Director aligns perfectly with our recent transition to an impact-first investment strategy. Marije will further solidify our focus on impact within our leadership ranks,” explains Bart van Eyk, VP Capital’s Managing Director. In her dynamic new role, Marije will supervise both our sustainability and communications teams.

Gaining expertise … and sharing it

But why combine impact and communication? The answer lies in our investment strategy. An important part of this strategy is active engagement with portfolio companies and peers. “We aim to share our insights with our portfolio companies to drive their sustainable progress. Dialogue is key in promoting positive impact, which is why we exchange knowledge and expertise proactively with other family offices and co-investors. Marije will help us fulfill this part of our impact-first strategy, by deepening our expertise in impact investment and by sharing that knowledge with our network,” explains Bart.

Meet Marije Rhebergen

Marije may be brand new on the team, but she is definitely not new in the field of impact. Having worked in both for-profit and non-profit companies across Europe, Latin America, and Africa, she has a rich managerial background in sustainability, finance, and communications. In her last position, she led the sustainability efforts of DLL, a global asset finance partner.

Marije's impact extends beyond green initiatives; she has spearheaded social equality programs and fulfilled communications roles in organizations such as the Fairtrade Labeling Organisation International and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation. Additionally, she participates as a board member for several initiatives that foster social impact networks, including PartnerFonds Brainport Eindhoven and Impact040. “I feel incredibly privileged to become a part of VP Capital, a family office driven by impact. I look forward to collaborating with the team and partners and contributing to innovative opportunities and essential solutions, both on an environmental and societal level.”

Marije will take up her role as Director of Impact & Communications at VP Capital as of 22 April 2024. We look forward to further consolidating our strategy with the help of her insights and expertise.
