VP Capital signs Code-V to accelerate women entrepreneurship

December 12, 2025 – VP Capital has signed Code-V to set out our commitment to advancing equal access to financing for women entrepreneurs.  Together with more than 120 signatories from the public and private sectors, we are working within Code-V to remove systemic barriers in the financing ecosystem.

Code-V is a Dutch initiative dedicated to accelerating women entrepreneurship in the Netherlands. The initiative focuses on collecting and sharing gender-disaggregated data and insights, and on developing practical interventions to help close the financing gap for women entrepreneurs, while increasing their visibility, knowledge, and access to opportunities.

By joining Code-V alongside others, the coalition continues to grow and strengthen its network, working collectively toward a more inclusive and equitable financing ecosystem.

Launch of the Code-V Funding Roadmap

Code-V has been active for two years and celebrated this milestone on 12 December with the launch of the Code-V Funding Roadmap, a new and accessible tool that helps female entrepreneurs identify suitable financing opportunities. For the first time, the Funding Roadmap provides a clear overview of all affiliated public and private financiers, including a direct link to their websites. This allows entrepreneurs to quickly see which financiers and types of financing align with their growth needs and stage. Focusing on the needs of entrepreneurs, the Funding Roadmap categorises financing opportunities and maps out the full landscape.

The Funding Roadmap was created from one clear insight from earlier research: many women entrepreneurs do not know which financing options exist or where they can turn. The first Code-V Data Report shows that only 13.7% of available financing goes to women entrepreneurs, while 38% of entrepreneurs in the Netherlands are women. This demonstrates the significant growth potential we can unlock by increasing awareness and improving the discoverability of financing,” Marianne Bruijn, Managing Director Code-V.

New phase: From start-up to scale-up

With over 120 signatories and the launch of the Funding Roadmap, Code-V is entering a new phase. What began as a start-up-like movement is now evolving into a scale-up that will help shape the financing ecosystem. From 2026, serial entrepreneur Sara Liesker will step in as incoming chair of Raad-V, the strategic council that oversees direction, governance, and professionalisation. She succeeds Leontien de Haan (ING), who has been instrumental in building the public-private collaboration around Code-V since its inception two years ago.

With the launch of the Funding Roadmap, we are claiming our position in the financing ecosystem. In addition to pursuing equal financing opportunities, we are building a knowledge-driven alliance that shares insights, provides direction, and helps guide the conversation. I look forward to contributing as incoming chair to this next phase, in which we will continue to build a more equitable and stronger entrepreneurial climate together,” Sara Liesker, incoming Chair Raad-V.

As VP Capital, we are proud to join this community of public and private partners and to work with Code-V on a systemic approach to make the financing ecosystem fairer and more inclusive.
